Project 016

PROJECT: Kalambabakali Village Cattle Dip
Date: 2004

Before: This is what I saw on my first visit on October 5th 2004.

After: the freshly poured concrete pad at the cattle dip,
ready for rebuilding the Kraal.

These small tanks are for the foot medicine.

The cattle must swim to this end and climb the stairs out

DRESCRIPTION:
Kalambabakali Village is in Chief Mwanachingwala's chiefdom along the Kafue River from Mazabuka. The Tonga people are proud of their cattle and with these dips rebuilt will be able to keep them healthier than before. The chemicals for the tanks have been donated by a Dutch chemical company; African Community Project supplied the funds for the cement, some of the labour and the cost of transport of the sand and gravel. Phanwell Moonga the Project Director for Mwanachingwala Conservation Area supplied my transport and made all the arrangements with the community to supply the sand and gravel and general labor. On behalf of the community, Chief Mwanachingwala is very grateful, and is looking forward to working with me on other projects in his chiefdom like schools and reforestation.

LOCATION: Kafue Flats, Mazabuka District, Zambia

COST: $600.00 US This project is completed.

PLEASE NOTE: This cost was for the completed project, smaller donations can be credited to the project of your choice and you become a partner in that project. For more information on this project or questions you may have, please contact the Director at garry@africancommunityproject.com
