Malundu Community School
May 21, 2005
This Community School is located outside Lusaka on a high plateau overlooking the Kafue Gorge. The teachers here, Dickson Muwsaswalo and Rodwell Nyeleti receive a bag of maize each as salaries per month. When we met and discussed putting a roof on the school, they agreed that would be very nice; but what they really needed they said, "was a football for the kids to play with, instead of a plastic bag filled with rages!" The school needs rebuilding and a new roof. Also the students have no blackboards, books, paper or desks and the teachers need to be paid and certified.
