Home sweet home!

Well I have been home for two weeks now and have settled in to life as a retired Canadian. My God what a dull life! It is very hard to shut out the lives of my friends in Zambia all struggling to survive in a country that has shown little progress in village life over the past 6 years that I have been visiting them. The education of villager’s children is very poor. Community School teachers get a few kilograms of maize a month for teaching literally hundreds of children every day. These teachers have few teaching skills, no tools and perhaps no education themselves. The school structure itself is sometimes very pathetic or non existence. Perhaps the village church. My hat goes off to these teachers.
