First Week

30 Jun 2008 04:06 pm

I have been here in Zambia just over a week now. Life in Lusaka seems the same except that Taxi fares have over doubled like the cost of fuel. Diesel is starting to become scarce; we went to three stations before we could buy some. Traffic in Lusaka is gridlock almost all day. The exchange rate to buy currency, the Kwacha has fallen so my budget keeps changing; at least it is good for the Zambian people and the economy.
I will head to Petauke next week after I have attended some important meetings that have been delayed. I have bought a very good Cell phone that I hope will work out in the bush so I can communicate via Internet.
My health seems to be improving I am not coughing as much some days.
