Forests without Borders

It is the last day of November and the fall is quickly turning into winter here on the west (wet) coast. Old bears like me should be getting ready for hibernation but my life is far too exciting. Things are very much awake at ACP. I am so pleased that Forests without Borders has been formed here in Canada and that ACP is a proud member. We are part of the Canadian Institute of Forestry (www.cif-ifc.org) an organization that is going into its 102 year of supporting the forests of Canada and its professionals.
Carbon Offsets

What a confused world we live in. I wonder if the dinosaurs went through this just before they became extinct. We will never know one way or the other. But I know this and I am not a scientist or even a smart man but if we do not stop cutting trees down and not replanting them, we are in trouble. Since I am connected to a part of the world that has very little knowledge about what is going on: it is my duty to educate them and help them do their part at correcting our environmental woes. At African Community Project we are helping but far too little. We need more resources to get the word out. I see selling carbon Credits is a means of financing our reforestation and community work. By helping us continue with our work you will also be easing your own carbon foot print.

Up Dates.

Thanks to Noella my web site guru. I have been able to start updating our projects. It will still take me awhile to get it all current. It is all new to me. But keep checking the site. Perhaps you could contribute to the cause.
Sad News

On Saturday night my friend and colleague Chief Nyampande and his wife Fran were in a terrible car accident. Fran died at the scene and Chief Nyampande is in hospital. I don’t know how serious his injuries are as yet. Fran was a very grand women working with the women of the Chiefdom helping them better their lot in life. My thoughts are with the Chief, her family and the people she touched daily.
