Letter from Felix

25 Jul 2009 04:28 pm

This is a letter I recieved from Felix yesterday. It takes a month to get here from Petauke.

Greetings Garry
I am very positive that all is fine with you. I am very fine too. On the 30th of June I had a meeting with the Chinkhangu Community and planted over 500 Leucaena at the new school site. The Community there is overwhelmed with the project but in need of a structure of a Community School. This is one of the schools where we presented two chalkboards, pencils and some boxes of pieces of chalk. This community is sandwiched by the two streams there by making it impossible for the people to move to other areas during the rainy season. Let me also take advantage of telling you that I was robbed of my bicycle in Petauke on the 21st of June whilst I was collecting Shake-shake containers. I reported it to the Petauke Police but to no avail. This has very much effected my movements to visit some communities. Thanks for the business cards, carbon paper and letterheads. I am taking heed of whatever you tell me to do. Things are moving here.
Greetings to all
Felix

I will send Felix money for a new bike and the term shake/shake is the used one litre beer containers that we use to plant seedlings in. Yes we do recycle!

June Report

03 Jul 2009 11:59 pm

I have spent most of the month in Victoria, catching up on all the things that never got done while I was sick. My body feels much better now, thanks to good Doctors and medicines. I don’t think I would have survived in a village setting.
Our projects are all moving ahead in a very positive manner. I expect to go back to Africa in the fall spending much needed time with each one, there are wells to be dug, some to be rehabilitated and lots of forestry work to be done, like destributing seeds..
